Tonight’s dinner is a Portuguese recipe for trout that I found in my favorite portuguese recipes website. It’s another nice way of using cream to make a sauce, in this case for fish.
As the recipe is in Portuguese, I’ve translated it just for you!
Recipe: Oven baked trout with creamy lemon sauve
Ingredients
- Trout, 800g (or several smaller trouts)
- 2,5 dl white wine (the more you add, the more you’ll have for sauce)
- salt & pepper
- 3 onions, sliced
- 2 carrots, in long shreds
- 125g melted butter
- 3 soup spoons of cream (feel free to add more to make more sauce)
- 1-2 soup spoons of lemon juice
Instructions
Place the fish in a large tray and cover with the wine and butter
Season with salt and pepper
Place the onions and carrots over the fish
Cover with aluminium foil
Place in a pre-heated oven at 230 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes
Remove from the oven and keep warm while preparing the sauce
Pour the liquid from the tray into a sauce pan and bring to boil to reduce slightly
Add the cream and lemon and let boil until it thickens
Serve with the trout.
