Oven baked trout with creamy lemon sauceTonight’s dinner is a Portuguese recipe for trout that I found in my favorite portuguese recipes website. It’s another nice way of using cream to make a sauce, in this case for fish.

As the recipe is in Portuguese, I’ve translated it just for you!

Recipe: Oven baked trout with creamy lemon sauve

Ingredients

  • - Trout, 800g (or several smaller trouts)
  • - 2,5 dl white wine (the more you add, the more you’ll have for sauce)
  • - salt & pepper
  • - 3 onions, sliced
  • - 2 carrots, in long shreds
  • - 125g melted butter
  • - 3 soup spoons of cream (feel free to add more to make more sauce)
  • - 1-2 soup spoons of lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Place the fish in a large tray and cover with the wine and butter
  2. Season with salt and pepper
  3. Place the onions and carrots over the fish
  4. Cover with aluminium foil
  5. Place in a pre-heated oven at 230 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes
  6. Remove from the oven and keep warm while preparing the sauce
  7. Pour the liquid from the tray into a sauce pan and bring to boil to reduce slightly
  8. Add the cream and lemon and let boil until it thickens
  9. Serve with the trout.
